Samantha's Baby Shower

I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for a friend at church. Samantha is due around Thanksgiving with her third child, but 1st baby girl!! We're all very excited for her. As we currently have only one other girl in the nursery, and the rest are boys (around 10 of them to be exact!).

When I asked her what she was decorating the baby room in, she replied with "Granny Sheek". I checked out her Pinterest page and went off that.

On her page she also had these wall decals. I'm not sure what they're called. ? But they were simple to make. I just used embroidery rings and inserted different types of fabric - that resembled Granny Sheek! :)
I also made her the bird mobile in the back. I swore last time I made one, that it would be my last. This time, it will be my last!! If you're interested in making one, go here. Just a tip, when I made the pattern, I did make it larger than the one they give. It was easier to sew them when they're just a little bigger.
It was a fun day celebrating her and the life she's carrying.

randoms...

I decided to change up my hairstyle recently by adding bangs. Not sure when I've had them last?? Maybe in grade school. :)

 ----------------------

I finally got a few of our family pic's converted to canvas. Living Social was having 50% off deals so I jumped at the chance. I did get another 12x12 but it's not finished yet - it's of our wedding day.
So I have a bit of a timeline now.  Each of the boys were "one" in each of the family pic's. I'm not sure where I'm going to hang them yet. I'm pleased w/ how they look. It gives a different style than just ordinary frames.

The Fab 5

Five years ago today, I married my best friend. It's crazy we've been married for 5 years already!?!
/We've had so many adventures in the last few years, two of them being called Breeson & Eagan! :)

It was such a fun, stress-free day. We both have great memories of our wedding day. We did a lot of non-traditional stuff in our ceremony, which represented us well. But at the same time, we incorporated Christ as the center of it, as that is what we wanted our wedding to represent as we started our lives together.

Family Pic's :: June 2012

I'm FINALLY posting a few family pic's that a friend/previous coworker took back in early June. Thanks Kandyce!! It's amazing how hard it is to capture kids. There were a lot of pic's where Breeson looked super cute, but then Eagan was doing his own thing, and vice-versa. So, needless to say, it wasn't hard to pick out the good pics. :)

Don't judge my (lack of) hairstyle. We were running behind on time!!

I love this one - even with Breeson's funny face. Ugh.

Indepenendce Day

Happy 4th!! We had a fun day celebrating our Nations Freedom. It started off with us hosting our first Fourth of July Brunch. I think it was a hit. At least I don't think anyone left hungry?! We may make it an annual thing. Who knows!?

We provided the blueberry pancakes and drinks, and everyone else was to bring a lawn chair and a (breakfast) side dish.

We had a great group of friends
and neighbors come.
I think there was around 22 adults and 12 kids. ?
The brunch idea was fun b/c it was obviously the coolest part of the day, and it didn't seem to conflict with many peoples events for the day.

I made 8 batches of (half whole-wheat) blueberry pancakes.
Thank goodness for my Kitchen Aid mixer!

obviously we're missing some kiddo's, I should've taken a picture before some left. But I'm glad I got this one. So cute.
Then the rest of the day was a take-a-nap, clean up after brunch, lay around the house, picnic at the park, s'more eatin' type of afternoon. Now the kids are in bed and we're watching The Patriot. How Patriotic of us, eh!? :) Hope you all had a good 4th...

Out of Control...

Waldo Canyone Wildfire - near Colorado Springs, CO

Dear Friends, please be in prayer for us in Colorado. Several wildfires have recently destroyed a LOT of land and homes. The biggest one recently started a few days ago (High Park Fire), which is N of Denver near Fort Collins. Today, the Waldo Canyon Fire got out of control (NW of Col Springs). Several hundred homes have been destroyed as well as many, many acres of land. Please pray God will send us rain soon. We desperately need it!!

Birthday Party (1 & 3 years)

As I had mentioned in an earlier post, we celebrated the boys' birthdays in Kansas this year, where they got to do it with Grandparents, cousins, and friends. Since we flew in the day before, we just kind of threw things together. I was pleased though with the turn out and was thankful to everyone who came.
Here is the birthday cake. I was SOO happy with it. If you live in the Whitewater/Wichita vicinity, be sure to check out Julie Johnson, who makes these in order to raise support for the upcoming adoption of their baby girl from China. It was super tasty too!! She is so talented and God is using her talent so they can help touch a child's life. If you're also interested in helping support them in this journey, be sure to check out her blog.
The boys had fun opening presents. Again, thanks to everyone who came to love on them!!! They loved their toys, books, and money (which went to buying them an inflatable pool and bike helmets).

A few of the party guests. It was great seeing some of my girlfriends too that I haven't seen in a long time, and even meet some of their little ones.
This picture is extra special to me, because both of the boys' GREAT Grandma's made it. They are both Godly, sweet ladies who have been great examples in my life.

He was sad that it was almost done! :) When he realized that he still had some left (which was w/ in seconds), he was fine.
