Kansas trip

I haven't blogged much lately, as you can see. It's been a busy week. On Sunday night, Jamie, Breeson, and I flew to Wichita for my Uncle Mark's funeral. (I wrote about him in a previous post a couple weeks ago).
His service was beautiful. Although we know he's in a much better place and he is now walking with Jesus, it's still hard to say good-bye. From my grandparents down to us, there are 90 people (uncles, aunts, cousins, and now our kids) - plus, 3 cousins are expecting, so there will soon be 93. Out of the 93, we've only had 4 deaths (my grandpa, uncle, and 2 twin babies from my cousin). And even though we're large, we're a close family. I always enjoy going home for family gatherings.

Jamie flew back to Denver on Friday b/c he is preaching for the first time on Sunday. I'm sad I'm missing it. Breeson and I decided to take a few extra days and stay behind to spend more time w/ family. However, on Thursday, he wasn't feeling that well but I assumed he was only teething. But, instead it's a cold virus. He has no voice and when he tries to cry, it's a hoarse screech that comes out. My poor baby. Despite his cough, sore throat, runny nose and not being able to breath, he's been super happy. I almost think he's been happier being sick than when he's well. Go figure?!?! I think a lot of is due to Grandpa and Grandma spoiling him so much. Plus, he loves playing w/ my mom's dog and my cat, Reuben.
I hope he's feeling better before we fly back on Tuesday.

I REALLY need to start working out. I get so inspired when I read my friends' blogs about them running and/or training for a race. But then when it comes time for me to put on my running shoes, I don't want to do it. I know i need to though. I REALLY want to run the BolderBoulder this year. It's a 10K. I know I can do it, I just need to get my butt in gear. I like to use the excuse that I don't have enough time in the day - but I need to make time. I also like to use the excuse that it's been too cold in Denver to run - but I always see people out running on my way to/from work. I like to use the excuse that I can't b/c I have Breeson - but I bought a jogging stroller last summer. Ugh. I can do this. I will do this.

My brother and sister-in-law signed up for the Goofy Challenge at Disney World for January 2011. I would like to join them. We'll see...

Tuesday afternoons

On Tuesday's, Jamie works at the church all day, Breeson has a babysitter in the morning, and I get off of work at 1. I'm thankful my work allows me to make up the time (go in early every day as well as work through lunch) so that my schedule can be flexible. It's nice coming home early so I can spend some QT with the boy. Over the weekend, Breeson and I battled colds. Today, he seemed to be doing much better and the sun was out. So I packed him up and we headed out. He was such a good baby. He really enjoys being in public places so he can watch people. He LOVES watching other babies/kids. He does pretty good in his stroller - as long it keeps moving. If I stop and browse, then he gets restless.

Our first stop was to World Market. I drooled over these for a while!! Someday when we get a house. *sigh*

I got this today for all of Breeson's toys. Up til now, we've been keeping them in a smaller basket. Since we don't have a toy box right now, this will have to suffice. It's a bit tall for him. When he tried to reach some of the toys at the bottom, he could barely reach them. :)

These are our attempts to a couple self portraits. He was uncooperative and I wasn't doing such a great job anyways!

We LOVE going to the pet store in the mall!! This is another..."someday when we get a house".

Then we ran to Barnes & Nobles to get a gift for a friend. We had to stop by the train set - everyone's doing it!!

As you can see...he was VERY excited.

Well, that's it. It was good to get Breeson out of the house. I think he gets cabin fever just as much as we do. We love Tuesdays!
Although, this will soon be changing. :(

How?

How does this happen?

A couple weeks ago I noticed one tiny hole in the right footy. Then every morning, I noticed it kept getting bigger and bigger!! But how did the left footy get a hole too? We need new pj's, you think?!?! :)

Today we're headed to H&R Block to get our taxes done. Thanks, Mary for the super discount!!
We were going to go hiking again today, but we forgot about our tax appointment at 1.
I can't say too much, but things at my work have had some major changes. I'm ready for it all to be over with, but nervous when it does happen because that means even more changes will come. Trusting God...that's all we can do!!

Prayer for my Uncle Mark would be much appreciated. He's been battling with Transverse Myelitis for several years now. I think we're nearing 7 years (??). We was at work one day, then due to some complications was rushed to the hospital. From that day forward, he's been a paralytic. We have often asked God "Why?". Since the beginning of his battle, we've seen his health go up, then down. We are surprised that he's made it this long. God, in His Sovereignty, has used this situation in both Mark's life, and those around him to draw him and us closer in our relationships with each other, and God. We are amazed at God's work in Mark's life through all of this. As well as Aunt Judy (Mark's wife). "In sickness and in health" is a phrase we never truly understand it's depth until we go through something like this. With all that said...Mark's life seems to be coming to an end - soon. He has been going in and out of a comatose-like state for the last week or two, and has hardly ate anything. Although we will be very sad to see him go. We will rejoice in the fact that he'll have a NEW body and will be walking with Jesus, pain free!!
